Healthy Memphis Common Table
CASE STUDY: HealthyMemphis
CHALLENGE: The Healthy Memphis Common Table (HMCT), a non-profit regional health care improvement collaborative for the greater Memphis area, needed a fresh and attractive Web site to engage a diverse group of stakeholders (including consumers, physicians, hospitals, employers and insurers) around health care quality measures. In order to accomplish this, a newly designed HMCT Web site required:
- An easy-to-use interface
- Engaging health-related content
- Interactive multi-media components
- A content management system
WOWZA SOLUTION: The Wowza team collaborated with HMCT to present complex health care quality data alongside tools for living healthy. Wowza developed a new brand image with a fresh logo and bright color palette to improve consumer appeal. Wowza branded the site around the organization's overall communications campaign, "Take Charge for Better Health." To further encourage consumer engagement, Wowza created a tool for generating customized lists of questions to ask doctors, helping users better prepare for medical appointments. A consumer-friendly display was developed for reporting Medicare data on the health care quality ratings of local medical providers and patient ratings on personal experiences with local doctors. The key ideas behind Wowza's solutions include:
- Long-term scalability and flexibility
- Convenience and access to a custom-built content management system
- Utilization of free and available content to enlarge a limited budget
- Customization of each stakeholder section
RESULTS: Since the launch of the redesigned HealthyMemphis.org in September 2009, consumers and medical professionals alike have eagerly shared positive responses on the overall site, from the consumer-friendly navigation to the interactive health care tools. Follow-up usability studies will provide further feedback in the near future.
